How to reset your Forgotten Password quickly (Ubuntu/Linux Mint/ and Related Distributions ) :
Did you forgot your Linux password session and you can't remember it,here is a simple way to reset your password using ( Recovery mod), many people face this problem you are not alone and you're luckily if you are using Ubuntu/any Linux they made it incredibly easy to reset your password.
Let's start :
1) - On Grub menu chose : recovery mode (if not go on advanced tools and chose recovery mode )
2) - Then chose "root - Drop to root shell prompt" and press "Ok"
3) - And type those commands :
- To know your username : ls /home
- Mount root with : mount -rw -o remount /
- Enter following command to reset your password: passwd username
- Example : passwd tutopb
- Now enter your new password and confirm it.
- Reboot your computer : exit
